Two Games To Chill The Rest Of The Year With
Time to sink 1000+ hours into a title with no regrets.
Forza Horizon 5
5 November
Horizon is the breath of fresh air that I’ve always needed in a racing sim. Sure, it’s more on the arcadey side of things but exploring Mexico, checking off events, and blasting down kilometres of fencing is just such a great way to relax. Horizon is as demanding as you want it to be, and so much fun that even non-racing fans have a great time playing it. Horizon 5 is set in some spectacular locations around Mexico and features over 429 cars to collect. This one is an easy recommendation to anyone who enjoys fun.
Battlefield 2042
19 November
The World Wars were great and all, but it’s good to be back in a modern setting for the Battlefield franchise. 2042 has some ever so slightly futuristic twists such as grapple hooks, robo dogs, and airdropped tanks that land straight in front of you so you don’t need to wait at spawn for one. It maintains the bombastic “levolution” style storms and map altering explosions of its predecessors. From the delivery of expansions to the way the storyline is told, this is a complete refresh for the series, but at its core, it’s still that ridiculously fun experience.
