3 Games To Splurge Out On
God of War: Ragnarok
Playstation 4, Playstation 5
Everyone’s favourite father-son god killer duo is back. This time with a new set of moves and all the solid action and storytelling you’ve grown accustomed to from the previous game. They’ve reworked the moves in the game and added a better use for triangle, adding elemental twists to your attacks. This is Triple A at its finest.
Pokemon Violet & Scarlet
Switch
Pokemon boldly takes one step forward while making the other foot take one step back. The series is currently doing the splits, but at least it’s trying! It’s breaking the formula by being the first open world game in the series. You can also drop into your friends’ games with up to four of you adventuring together. Sadly the game still looks a bit muddy and they weren’t going to break the mould enough to bring the Arceus mechanics to the mainline series.
Callisto Protocol
PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S
Get a healthy dose of Dead Space’s DNA percolating for a couple years and you have yourself a brand new sci-fi survival horror based on Jupiter in a maximum security prison. Plenty of third person butt clenching action and scares along the way, dripping in viscera and ambience.
