The Best of the Monaco Yacht Show 2019
Last month, the 29th official Monaco Yacht Show brought high style and sophistication to Port Hercules. Over 125 superyachts, 600 companies, the world’s most respected shipyards and worldwide debuts; the show delivers insane luxury. Started in 1991, the Yacht Show was organised by French entrepreneur, Maurice Cohen and has grown to include some pretty outstanding creations – speedboats, submarines, and those large superyachts.
The Monaco Yacht Show is certainly the one event in the year where glitz, glamour, the concepts, the bespokes, or down-right unthinkable, merge together. We have chosen a brief selection of our favourites from last month’s show.
Unique Lilium
Turkey-based boat yard, Bilgin Yachts, was founded in 1929 and have been renown for creating amazing vessels. Their second Bilgin 156 model called, Lilium, featured dazzlingly in this year’s boat show.
Constructed as a 47.5 metre steel and aluminium superyacht, the ship is the cousin of Bilgin Yachts, Starburst III and is rightly titled Bilgin 156-II. From the outside, it looks like it was sculpted by a master.
Powered by two beastly MTU 12V2000 engines which can cruise at 23km/h and get up to 43km/h.
The inside features an in-house light colours of white and gold, brass and marble. The lower level features a whole dining area with an ironic island in the middle and the other decks feature socialising areas, a master suite, two double bedrooms, and two twin singles. It can hold up to 10 guests in five separate cabins as well as nine crew members.
This superyacht can now be purchased for $42,125,381.
Live On the Horizon
The horizon is a magical place to get lost in. Imagine bobbing on in the Pacific Ocean on your very own horizon and feeling free and totally at home.
The Taiwanese yacht manufacturer, Horizon Yachts have recently shown off their FD87 Skyline model. Measuring 27.45 metres with a 7.11-metre beam and sky lounge on the upper deck. The outside is designed with the aerodynamics of a sailboat. On the inside, the saloon boasts a dining area, breakfast bar, island partitions and rooms for guests. The master bedroom, four guest rooms, and crew quarters are situated around the ship.
The Skyline did appear at the 2019 Monaco Yacht Show, but unfortunately is not available for sale.
Polarized at Sea
Rossinavi, a well-known Italian ship yard in Viareggio, built the Polaris in 2014 and it reclaimed its mantel at the 2019 Monaco Yacht Show.
It is a very impressive superstructure, built with marine grade aluminium and powered by two 2,580 kilowatt 12V 4000 M93L MTU diesel engines that can get it up to 42 km/h. It is a tri-deck, with a generous amount of space both inside and out.
Noted as being a combination of style and elegance, the mega yacht contains a spacious sundeck, a flying bridge, a 3.5 metre pool, a waterfall, and beach club. On the inside, the design is set between the modern and the traditional. Natural materials have been used in the design, such as dark glossy ebony, ivory-maple wood and white leather.
The boat can house nine crew members and 12 guests in double and single rooms dotted throughout the yacht. It is currently on the market for $42,813,142.
Here Comes The Sun
Built in 2017, the Netherland-based master yacht builder, Amels, created the greatest thing this side of outer space. Called ‘Here Comes the Sun’, the giant is a whopping 83 metres diesel-fueled superyacht with the class and sophistication you’d expect at the Monaco Boat Show.
The exterior, designed by Winch Design, looks grand and sophisticated with a sleek silver paint job and multiple decks to spread out in. And spreading out is exactly what it’s designed to do. It features a swimming pool, beach club, helipad, jacuzzi, spa pool and several entertainment areas. It also sleeps up to 12 guests with 10 rooms that include a master suite, three VIP rooms, two double cabins, and four twin cabins for guests. It’s also big enough to fit in 25 crew members.
Here Comes The Sun is built with a steel hull and aluminium structure. It glides along the water at 23km/h with a maximum speed of up to 32.5km/h, thanks to humongous twin diesel Caterpillar 3516 engines.
As well as being showcased at the Monaco Boat Show last month, it is also available for charter at a $2,063,284.
The Elixir of Life
Coming in at $66,884,788 but worth every penny, comes 2019 Monaco Yacht Show’s local superyacht, the Elixir, from Monaco-based yacht builders, Y.Co.
With contrasting shades throughout and a heavy dose of LED for accent lighting, the superyacht has a spacious look and feel to it. Whether it be the 55 metres in size or the light just playing tricks, it can still can accommodate 12 guests, five cabins, 13 crew and get up to a speed of 27km/h. The Elixir features broad living spaces and exterior decks, a standout sun deck, large jacuzzi, balconies, sauna, cinema, a diving suite and onyx bar.

Tis’ a Big Boat
German-based luxury shipyard, Lürsse, have recently released their 111.5m steel and aluminium superyacht called TIS.
Designed both inside and out by Winch Exteriors, the boat can clock up some serious power, with its serious diesel motor with speeds of up to 33km/h.
Some features include: two helipads, a swimming pool, a cinema, a beach club, a garage, massage room, gym and Jacuzzi. 18 guest rooms are spread throughout the ship in nine rooms and can hold up to 31 crew members.
