Jasnish Gujral, Property Developer – Nest Or Invest Developments, Talks Funding Dreams
What are the top three things on your bucket list?
– Enjoy a sunset in Santorini
– One-on-one coaching lesson with Tony Robbins
– Share a bottle of Macallan 52 year old Whiskey with friends
What advice would you give your 20-year-old self?
Work hard, play hard, put everything on the line and in invest EVERYTHING. Make mistakes, learn from them, but don’t make the same mistakes again. Understand your strengths, and build on them. Find a mentor.
How do you stay motivated?
Watching and listening to motivating people. While I’m on the go in the car or at the gym, I’m always using that time to listen to audiobooks.
I also get inspiration from bouncing ideas with like-minded people. I belong to various property groups and also to a business group where we share knowledge, advice and hard-earned experiences.
If you didn’t need money, what would you do?
Develop and take more risks in property, create more out-there ideas which would inspire and grow communities.
I would also travel more with my wife, Eleanor, and spend more time with our parents (in short doses!).
What is the secret to success?
Having excellent mentors in my life, having the support of amazing family and friends and ultimately not giving up.
What is the worst mistake you’ve made and how did you fix it?
Putting too much trust in people and not listening to my “gut feel”. Being naïve in property is very expensive and I have been stung a lot, and I mean A LOT.
What is your advice for people to fund their dream?
Work hard, do whatever it takes. Don’t make excuses for not achieving a dream.
Even if it takes longer than expected, make sure you strive to achieve it.
What is the best bit of advice, or quote, that resonates with you?
Your mind is your most valuable asset.
What’s your favorite restaurant?
Benjamin Steakhouse, New York.
What makes you feel alive?
When I see goals from my vision board come to life – personal, spiritual, material and business.
