Bringing you the ‘Shining Stars’ we discovered at the LA Auto Show.
Mazda6 More style & more oomph
The Mazda6 is the flagship of Mazda’s passenger car line-up and its improved styling looks to add greater maturity and composure to this popular sedan. With a refreshed exterior and a new high-grade interior that features Japanese Sen wood, (often used in traditional Japanese instruments and furniture), it truly embraces their Mature Elegance concept.
In addition, the Mazda6 now comes with the SKYACTIV-G 2.5T direct-injection turbocharged gasoline engine that debuted in the Mazda CX-9 crossover SUV. Producing torque on par with 4L V8, this engine offers an effortless performance that feels equal parts composure and excitement.
Jaguar/Land Rover
Range Rover SVAutobiography – New levels of luxury and comfort from the redesigned cabin: power-closing rear doors, reclining airline-style seats and unique timepiece by Zenith. Hand-finished by Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO).
Jaguar’s SVO-developed XE SV Project 8 is now the world’s fastest four-door car, following a production-intent prototype’s record lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The incredible time of 7min 21.23sec is nearly 11 seconds quicker than the previous fastest sedan around the legendary 20.8km German circuit and puts the 441kW Project 8 ahead of some of the world’s fastest two-door coupés and supercars.
Mercedes-Benz
Like its predecessors, the new CLS exudes self-assured sportiness in exemplary style while still reflecting the timeless aura of the first CLS. Pioneering the new design idiom of Mercedes-Benz, the CLS has clear contours, reduced lines, a restyled grille that widens towards the base and a forward-slanting front section. The CLS is equipped with a new inline six-cylinder engine and is the first vehicle in the Mercedes-Benz line-up with 48-volt technology with ISG (Integrated starter-generator system) that offers increased efficiency and comfort.
BMW
BMW i8, as the updated version of the 2+2-seater – the world’s highest-selling plug-in hybrid sports car since its launch in 2014 – is joined by the new BMW i8 Roadster in the line-up. The open-top two-seater with electrically operated soft-top adds a whole new sensation of freedom to the combination of locally emission-free mobility and high-calibre performance. It opens the door to virtually silent motoring with zero CO2 emissions, bringing an extra edge of purity to the experience of open-top sheer driving.
