M2 Luxury Watch Guide 2021: Hublot
Hublot Classic Fusion Orlinski 40mm
Adopting the same coloured ceramic used in the Big Bang series to fit an entirely different style, the Classic Fusion Orlinski 40mm pairs Hublot’s watchmaking excellence with French artist Richard Orlinski’s fascinating and unique aesthetic vision to create a product that is equal parts timepiece and sculpture. This piece is a tale of two styles; the case is remarkable for its elaborate texture, the winding three dimensional grooves and folds of its faceted ceramic demonstrating a marvelous level of delicate intricacy. The face is the opposite; it’s a masterclass in minimalism, opting for an uncrowded approach, with only the faceted dials and the rhodium-plated index markers sharing the space with iconic Hublot insignia.
The technical particulars are addressed with Hublot’s in-house HUB1100 Self-winding Movement and a 42-hour power reserve. The simplistic comfortable rubber strap is a touch that is designed to keep the spotlight on the artistry of the case and the watch comes with two colour options; the powerful Black Magic or the unique and eye-catching Blue Ceramic.
Hublot Big Bang Unico Yellow Magic
A piece that will remind you to stay looking on the sunny side of life everytime you glance at your wrist, Hublot’s Big Bang Unico Yellow Magic demands your attention and respect, not just for the audacity of its unconventionally vibrant colour, but the unique and innovative manner of which it achieved such a hue. The Yellow Magic ceramic is a result of Hublot’s own manufacture innovation, which sought to diversify its colour palette while not just maintaining, but improving the hardness and wear resistance of its case material. This process is known for being extremely difficult, as coloured ceramics are created using incredibly high temperatures, which can spoil pigments if not done with immense precision. As you can see from the pristine, glossy finish of the Yellow Magic, they clearly mastered that process.
Limited to just 250 pieces, Yellow Magic utilises Hublot’s in-house HUB1280 calibre and UNICO Manufacture Self-winding. Its face is busy with subdials and a stenciled numbering theme, and showcase Hublot Big Bang range’s signature skeleton dial in the heavily contrasting matte black and the eye-catching yellow.
