Funk
Funk is a brand aimed squarely at young men with a sense of pride in their presentation. Also starting as an online brand, Funk is the brainchild of two 18-year-olds Toby and Floyd. Friends for many years and spurred on through their joint business studies at school they wanted to create something that would be a better present at Christmas and a step up from the basic body spray, a step up from the basics in the pharmacy aisle.
The two founders are inspired innovators and entrepreneurs. As you sit with them and they describe the sense of joy they’ve got from selecting the bottles to working with a perfumer to create the sense, you know that they’re going to make this a success.
Creatively named ‘Skunk’ deodorant and ‘Add ya Funk’ cologne the products are aluminium-free, New Zealand made and tested and assessed by young men who wear them. A great gift idea for the young men in your life, the brand also commits to men’s health and a portion of each sale goes to charity.
Conviction
Conviction Skincare strips it back to basics. It’s a product range with just a couple of ingredients each that you’ve actually heard of: jojoba oil, turmeric, and infusions of kanuka. It’s as natural as it gets. A women’s skincare brand for some time, Conviction is now marketing to men—who can reap all the benefits.
