A Racquet At Sea
When you’re one of the best tennis players in the world, what you really need is a great big boat to go with that recognition and fame. Owned by Rafael Nadal, the world famous tennis champion, you’d expect such a vessel.
He put his old yacht on the market for a spine-numbing NZD$4.48 million to make room for a new one. We can hear those superyacht enthusiasts sprinting to the boatyard right now. He’s commissioning an 80 Sunreef Power catamaran from Sunreef Yachts, the first of which is premiering this September at the Cannes Yachting Festival. The 24-metre boat will feature bold styling, tall bulwarks and a garage space that is going to be large enough to accommodate jet skis, boats as well as other toys. It offers a top and lower deck, a waterfall-fed spa pool, bar area and social area. The boat will be able to house up to 12 guests and four crew members in comfy and spacious rooms.
The boat thrusts from twin 575hp engines and will certainly make a splash in the waves as it surges past Andy Murray’s little tinnie. The only thing it seemingly won’t have is a tennis court.
