Occupation: Chartered Accountant – Director at The Business Advisory Group
What’s your morning routine?
Up at 5.30am – Gym or Run.
Back home for smoothie and coffee with my wife and new son.
Office by 8.30am. Clear emails, begin day.
What are the top three things on your bucket list?
Financial independence.
Raise a happy, healthy family.
To live a year immersed in a non-English speaking country (Spain?).
What advice would you give your 20 year-old self?
Always look forward, but remember to be aware of what you have achieved so far. Success comes from many little steps.
How do you stay motivated?
Keep looking forward. Continually set, assess and re-set goals.
If you didn’t need money, what would you do?
I have a thirst for knowledge of how the universe works so I would probably study this. But also travel.
What is the secret to success?
Continual improvement in every aspect of life – personal, home, social, business.
What is the worst mistake you’ve made and how did you fix it?
Can’t think of anything too major, but the answer is always to let people who are affected know so you can minimize the effect and come up with a solution together.
What is your advice for people to fund their dream?
Dream big, but expect to work for it.
What is the best bit of advice, or quote, that resonates with you?
I don’t find a lot of inspiration in quotes. I prefer to look for inspiration in people’s actions. Both Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk with their businesses and space programs, and Bill Gates with Microsoft and his Foundation are examples.
What’s your favourite restaurant?
Cibo, Parnell. Great food, great people.
How do you keep up to date with current affairs?
News apps on my phone mainly.
What is the secret of living a longer, more successful life?
I believe it is to eat healthy, exercise regularly, work hard but make time for friends and family…time will tell if I am right.
What makes you feel alive?
Travel and exercise.
