Bentley Is At It Again
Founded in 1919 by brothers, H.M and W.O. Bentley, the luxury car brand, Bentley is not sitting back and resting after over 100 years of producing high performance luxury vehicles. They are continuing to push down on the throttle with their latest offering from Bentley Mulliner.
In their latest model, the Bentley Mulliner Bacalar, the name ‘Bacalar’ comes from the Laguna Bacalar in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, a location of utter natural beauty and wonder. This choice of name comes from Bentley’s theme of borrowing the names of natural landmarks (like the Bentayga in 2015).
Designed in the Crewe headquarters and handcrafted to the driver’s tastes, this two seater bespoke car, which comes in three different portfolios: Classic, Collection and Coachbuilt, is set to accommodate that open-top, driver-focused experience.
Inside, natural British wool and 5,000-year-old Riverwood adorns the dashboard and each car also features a unique clock face with individual one-of-12 badging.
Inspired by the EXP 100 GT, the body and its sustainable materials will be made from hand-crafted carbon fibre and aluminium panels. And underneath all that exterior craftsmanship will sit an enhanced version of a 6.0-litre W12 TSI engine producing 650 bhp. With its advanced engine, the Active All-Wheel-Drive System will vary the torque from front to rear drive for the best handling.
Only 12 distinctive Bacalars will be released and each one has already been pre-nabbed at a cost of USD$1.5 million before taxes.
