In the weeks of making this issue of M2, Dua Lipa’s ‘levitating’ has played roughly 1 million times on the office radio. Even if we lived in the 21st century and were pumping tunes via Spotify, chances are she would have slipped into our playlists. Dua’s ‘Future Nostalgia’ Album was the fifth most streamed on the platform overall.

It was only around five years ago that she slipped into NZ’s airwaves with her single ‘Be the One’. She’s now one of the biggest names in pop and is showing no signs of slowing down. Even with COVID pumping the brakes on live performances, she managed to bring the fire via her “Studio 2054” online concert, which drew the eyes of 5 million-plus worldwide viewers.
