M2’s Five Top Winter Reads To Keep You Entertained
The M2 office bookworm give us his top five winter reads to keep you entertained during these cold months.
Tripwire
By Lee Child
I find a lot of writers do some great work in the early stages of their careers, so I read an earlier Jack Reacher thriller this month, from 1999, Tripwire. Being from the early Jack Reacher days of his drifting, a lot of the “where did he come from?” questions are answered.
Calico Joe
By John Grisham
Here’s a curve ball. Every Grisham book I have read is always a legal thriller with lawyers and the law. So imagine my surprise when this book has no lawyers!
Fast Ice
By Clive Cussler
The latest adventure thriller from NUMA files, starring Kurt Austin, sees us in the cold of Antarctica and heat of South Africa. As always, great action escapism.
The Devils You Know
By Ben Sanders
I interviewed Sanders four years ago (M2 June 2017 issue). One of his influences is Lee Child. You see some Jack Reacher in his novels, making good characters and storyline.
Hideout
By Jack Heath
Heath is 34 year old Australian who has written over 30 books! This is the 3rd in his Timothy Blake series. I really enjoyed this one. He has a unique, unpredictable style which I really enjoyed.
