Free On Demand – Humans

Freeview has launched its new and enhanced On Demand TV service. The new Freeview On Demand platform will replace FreeviewPlus (as well as various on demand apps) and give Kiwis easier access to shows from New Zealand’s leading broadcasters: TVNZ, MediaWorks, and Māori Television.

For the science fiction fans, there is Humans, a British sci-fi series based on a Swedish drama, which artfully navigates the integration of artificial intelligence into society. Anthropomorphic androids, known as “synths” have been invented to help humans in their daily lives, from household chores to medical care. However, their incorporation into the world is met with unexpected psychological and legal difficulties, especially when a rogue line of code begins to give synths consciousness, allowing them to experience human emotion and connection. Aside from the alluring, futuristic themes of the show, the actors playing synths will completely mesmerise you with their perfected movements. The series, cast and crew have been nominated for a myriad of awards and the series has earned screenwriting (from British Screenwriters’ Awards) and digital creativity awards (BAFTA)
