Gamers Rejoice: The Pro X Line Is now Complete
An issue or two ago we reviewed the Logitech Pro X 2 Lightspeed headset (spoiler alert it’s pretty great). Now the Pro X line has been expanded further with the Logitech G Pro X TKL Lightspeed Gaming Keyboard and Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 Gaming Mouse, meaning your desktop can now be completely decked in Pro X gear from head to toe.
Getting the Superlight 2 out of the way first it’s a zero fuss mouse with the usual 2 back and forward side buttons and scroll wheel. It’s not trying to blow your mind with a thousand quick keys, it’s a no-nonsense mouse. You won’t be doing any flight sim shenanigans on this thing. Where it stands out is it’s lightness. They weren’t kidding when they dubbed it the Superlight 2. Using it feels like pushing around a plastic shell of oxygen as it only weighs 60 grams. It has the numbers where it counts though. It’s crisp and responsive with it’s new HERO 2 Sensor, with tracking at over 500 inches per second and up to 32,000 DPI. If your preference is weightier mice perhaps the more ergonomic wireless MX Master 3S might be more your speed. It has 95 hours of battery and a 25 kilohertz max frame rate. It also comes bundled with Zero-additive PTFE mouse feet to deliver a smooth glide for seamless reactivity to any game.
The Pro X TKL is a tenkeyless mechanical keyboard with programmable RGB backlighting. You can cycle through modes by holding the light button and hitting the numbers. It can switch between using it’s Lightspeed dongle or standard bluetooth. I recommend Lightspeed for all its benefits and zero fuss connection. Along the top it has media buttons and volume wheel as well as gaming mode, light, bluetooth and lightspeed buttons. A subtle improvement over its predecessors are the kickstands on the back, coming with 4 degree and 8 degree options. It’s a small but much appreciated addition.
Another addition I love is the soft-shell zipped carry case it comes packaged in. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Being able to pack away my gear with a toddler around is a lifesaver. The case also has a handle to make toting it between LAN parties a breeze. Bringing it to and from work for review was made much less nerve wracking with its inclusion. It has a generic layout making it compatible with third party key options and people who want real control can pick between Tactile Switches (GX Brown), Linear Switches (GX Red) or Clicky Switches (GX Blue).
Both the new Pro X peripherals come in three colourways, black, white and a knock your socks off magenta. They also come with a small usb Lightspeed dongle plugged into a USB-C to USB-A adapter. This means you can have the dongle accessible on a cable at all times without having to crawl into the nether regions of your rig. If you need to do a quick charge you can just unplug it and whip the USB-C into your mouse or keyboard. The Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 Gaming Mouse (RRP: $349.95) and PRO X 2 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Headset RRP: $499.95) are available now.
