Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello
I learnt a new word today. Domotics – the system behind a house that is completely in sync. Lighting, climate, sound, entertainment and appliances all with just a click of a button. For those (including myself) who don’t yet live in such a future-forward house, having surround sound would be a definite necessity. Amazon’s Echo has been around for a while, but it’s only been announced recently that a new line of cool speakers that utilises voice connection and domotics is being released. This gadget really fast forwards us into the future of smart technology. The Echo Show sits at the top of the ladder of Amazon’s Speakers. A 10-inch HD display screen and built-in Smart Home hub responds to voice commands. Alexa, Amazon’s well-known virtual assistant, can reply to questions too. On the outside, it has a svelte design which is attractive and suits any environment. You can also make and receive Skype and phone calls from this. The video picture quality is subpar, but the sound is excellent and the experience of using this product is wonderful. The Echo Show is available in New Zealand for NZD$399.
