Incredible Photos Show China’s Abandoned Infrastructure
In the past through these photo series we have explored the crumbling remains of the Soviet Union. In this latest project by the photographer calling themselves Greg Abandoned, we instead explore a country moving and growing so fast it’s leaving behind large fleets of vehicles, planes and even rockets.
Greg travelled everywhere throughout China from 2018 to 2021. From inner Mongolia in the north to Yunnan in the south and hundreds of cities, towns and villages in-between, except Tibet, which is off limits to foreigners who aren’t with a tourist group. He got such a large collection of photography from the trip that the accompanying books have been split into three volumes. This first collection of the series named Abandoned China, focuses primarily on abandoned industrial zones and vehicle graveyards.
The only question I’m left with is why are the bikes abandoned with colour coordination?
