iPhone 8 Plus Review
It’s that time of the year again. Yes! We have got our hands on a new, shiny iPhone 8 Plus in all of its full glass glory…
On that note, I think glass is a great place to start; the most obvious update with the new device is that it is full glass. Glass back, glass front, glass everywhere. And why change from milled aluminium casing, you might ask? It is for one reason, and that is to allow for wireless charging. The frequency was unable to conduct through the aluminium body, but is not problem for the glass casing. Everyone out there seems to be freaking out about it collecting fingerprints, but this really isn’t an issue as who doesn’t keep their brand new phone in a case any way? The first thing I noticed when I got this bad boy in my hands was how nice and luxurious the full-glass body felt; it gave a nice weight to the overall device but, overall, the iPhone felt amazing!
That’s enough on that… my main question when I received the iPhone 8 Plus was “well what’s the difference between this and the iPhone 7 Plus?”
Well, my friend, there are many things that make this a big step up and, even coming from using an iPhone 7, I was constantly reminded about the upgrades between devices. So here is some top tech the iPhone 8 Plus uses that make it a significant upgrade.
_TOP TECH
A11 Bionic Chip – so this is the brains behind everything; it controls the speed of the device and the functioning in general. The A11 Bionic has six processor cores – two high-performance cores (25 percent faster than the ones in the A10 Fusion) and four high-efficiency cores (70 percent faster than the ones in the A10 Fusion), and all six cores can be used simultaneously. So you can imagine the difference it made.
Retina HD Display – The new True Tone technology uses a super-sensitive sensor to depict what type of light you are in, and constantly changes the colours on the device, making everything look incredibly bright and vibrant in any light.
Wireless Charging – So handy and easy to use, just plonk your device down on the charging pad, and away it goes.
12MP Dual Camera – If you haven’t yet used an iPhone with the dual lense features, you will be truly amazed. Since I came from using the iPhone 7, I hadn’t yet used a phone with the Dual Lens feature. And wow. The 2-times optical zoom feature makes taking a great image much simpler.
Overall, I do enjoy the iPhone 8 Plus a lot. However… I am very excited about the iPhone X – just like every other Apple lover out there. The iPhone 8s are great devices and with the new tech supported by iOS 11, the overall experience is incredible.
