It: Chapter 2 and Everything Else You Need to See This Month
IT: Chapter 2
The first IT film, a well received horror mystery drama focused entirely on one half of the narrative, namely the childhood section of the story. Chapter 2 brings in the other half of the story, which was originally intermingled in the books.
27 years after the events of the first film The Losers’ Club reassembles and comes home to Derry to deal with the reemergence of Pennywise, an evil which in many ways represents the evils of a town deeply divided. Featuring James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain and Bill Hader, this is going to be the horror to watch this year, teaching us that when we stand together, we can take on eldritch horrors, and when we don’t, we get drowned by freaky clowns and naked old ladies. 2019 seems like a good year to learn that lesson. Clocking in at almost 3 hours, you better be prepared for more than your regular monster of the week popcorn horror.
A lot can happen in two years, the original kids had to be digitally de-aged for the sequel, they had grown so much.
In cinemas Sept 5
