Lego Ducati For The Big Boys
For all you big kids out there who love to dissect the instructions in your kids Lego sets, Ducati’s newest creation might get you wetting yourself in excitement.
Designed by Italian designer Riccardo Zangelini, the Ducati Panigale Sports Bike, made entirely from 15,000 Lego blocks, features everything that goes into a replica of the real deal, including for the first time for Zangelmi – the Lego Technic.
The Lego Technic is the company’s way of featuring functioning pipes and rods to create more elaborate designs. This Ducati, in particular, will feature a working gearboxes, suspensions and steering systems, just like a full-sized Ducati bike.
“I hope that building the Lego Technic Ducati Panigale V4 R set transmits the same intense emotions that I feel today,” said Aurélien Rouffiange, senior designer at Lego Technic. “It should be viewed as more than just a game, I hope it will be a lure to enter the world of mechanics, power and technology. The beginning of a long journey, full of fun and enthusiasm.”
A much smaller version of this bike will soon be available in New Zealand toy stores, so for all you big kids out there, Christmas is coming up soon. Hopefully it won’t take 400 hours to make either.
