M2 2022 Luxury Watch Preview: G-Shock
G-Shock MRG-B5000
The brand new MRG-B5000 calls upon Casio’s rich heritage and cutting edge design aesthetics as it takes inspiration from the iconic 1983 classic. It’s forged in cobarion, a new metal that rivals platinum for shine, and is four times harder than pure titanium.
Crafted on the high-end Premium Production Line at Yamagata Casio the MRG-B5000 is treated with the utmost care at every stage. Casio developed a new Multi-Guard Structure, which allows them to polish the 25 intricate pieces that construct the bezel. It’s this new structure which also lends the watch superior shock-resisitance. The scratch resistant titanium alloy band also has it’s own special structure, with seperate pins in each metal link. All of this allows for a stunning distortion-free finish across the piece, right down to challenging spots like recessed portions.
Naturally it comes equipped with smartphone pairing and a range of features that make this a true 21st century timepiece. It also comes equipped with a solar charging system and high-brightness LED light for added convenience.
Available in black (MRG-B5000B) and Silver (MRG-B5000D).
G-Shock MRG-B2000
The MR-G series, known for its meticulous attention to construction, function, materials, and finishes, welcomes a new line – the MRG-B2000. Pictured above is the striking MRG-B2000B-1A4, it’s crimson colour scheme inspired by the akazonae — the colour of the crimson armour worn by elite samurai and associated with gallantry and valour. It’s specifically inspired by the armour worn by senior samurai of the Takeda clan, during the Sengoku “Warring States” period, circa 1500s.
Much like the MRG-B5000 opposite, it features Bluetooth pairing. Its exclusive MR-G module even has a gold-plated retainer plate to reduce electrical resistance. The dials perimeter evokes a Japanese fan, while its gently curved index marks bring to mind sword blades. This is pure Japanese technology meets Japanese aesthetics.
