M2 2022 Watch Guide: Longines
Spirit Pioneer
The brand new Longines Spirit Pioneer Edition is the latest addition to the Longines Spirit collection. It’s a 42mm grade 5 titanium chronograph, making it more resistant to corrosion, scratches and heat. It’s tinted sparingly with a neon green which is carried across the dials, numerals and subtly in the stitching of the black synthetic strap which clasps via a titanium buckle. The glass is of course scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a couple layers of anti-reflective coating on both sides.
It uses the exclusive self-winding movement Calibre L688.4 beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a silicon balance-spring.
The Pioneering spirit really is alive and well in this watch for those that want something a little out of the norm.
Ultra-Chron
Taking the sensibilities of the 1968 original Ultra-Chron Diver, the brand new Longines Ultra-Chron brings the lessons of the past to the 21st century. It comes in an iconic 43mm cushion-shaped steel case with sapphire inserted unidirectional rotating bezel. Dials come in an eye catching black grain set off by a white minute track. Alternating Batons are lit with Super-LumiNova for added visibility at night.
As with any good Professional Dive watch, it’s water resistant to 30 bar and uses a calibre L836.6 high-frequency movement which is highly accurate and resistant to any rough bumps you might encounter 300 metres below sea level.
It comes with your choice of leather strap or steel bracelet.
