Mahershala Ali
The US state of California is known for its stars, and its faultlines. Hollywood – the world-famous hub for the acting industry – has only one rule…if you want to make it big there, you have to stand out faultlessly.
Born in Oakland, California but raised on the Hayward Fault Line, acclaimed actor and rapper, Mahershala Ali knows all about treading around those faults in the industry, but also getting back up again and striving for immortality. His interest in acting was sparked after landing an apprenticeship at the California Shakespeare Theatre and gaining a Master’s Degree in acting from New York University in 2000.
He then went on to landing regular roles on TV in shows such as Crossing Jordan, Threat Matrix and The 4400. After his break-through role of Remy Danton in the Netflix show, House of Cards, Ali became one of the most talked about names in the industry. He has also had a wealth of success on the silver screen, with roles in The Hunger Games, Green Book and the Oscar winning film, Moonlight. Oh yeah, did I mention he’s won BAFTAs, Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards too!
Understand that we are all co-creators of our respective destinies.”
