What’s your morning routine?
I am not really a morning person and feel more efficient working late at night. However, if I do manage to get up early, I like to hit the gym or do a boxing session to get my blood flowing.
What are the top three things on your bucket list?
1. Climb Everest 2. Have a boxing match 3. Pay my mum’s house off.
What advice would you give your 20-year-old self?
Do not stress as much and focus on the end result – enjoy the ride with all the ups and downs!
How do you stay motivated?
I tell myself, “If you don’t do it, no one else will do it for you.” Also, whenever I have people doubt me, I get the whole “prove them wrong” rush. So you could say that negative feedback stimulates my growth.
If you didn’t need money, what would you do?
It’s still a long way away but I would dedicate myself to philanthropy and charity work.
What is the secret to success?
I think the secret to success is understanding what success means to you. For some, it’s having financial wealth, others measure it in being healthy or being surrounded by family, etc. If there is no clear vision of what you define as being successful, then you can run into a situation where no matter what you achieve, it won’t be satisfying and you will still feel empty.
What is the best bit of advice, or quote, that resonates with you?
“You don’t learn to walk by following rules. You learn by doing, and by falling over” by Richard Branson.
What’s your favourite restaurant?
I really enjoy dinners at Vodka Room and I like Deadshot in Ponsonby for a drink.
How do you keep up to date with current affairs?
I read a lot online, as well as listen to podcasts. Joe Rogan is my favourite.
What is the secret of living a longer, more successful life?
Look after your health – your body is your temple. Laugh more often and be positive.
What makes you feel alive?
Seeing my business ventures come to fruition certainly gives me a buzz. I also get a lot of satisfaction from helping others professionally; see them grow and achieve results. It’s amazing to see how a person can be transformed with the right guidance and mentoring.
