Meet The World’s Most Expensive Kicks

Kanye changed the footwear world when he performed at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards wearing a brand new shoe no one had ever seen before. Its swoosh was the only giveaway to its identity. The world just saw its first pair of Air Yeezys.

Now in a private auction set by Sotheby’s for Ryan Chang, sneakerhead and curator of @applied.arts.nyc, the shoes have just sold for a whopping $1.8 million, making them the most expensive shoes on the planet.

A custom lasered wooden box is included, which features a design and etching by the Yeezy 1 creator, Mark Smith.
