Professor Albert Bifet

Albert is a Professor of AI, Director of the Te Ipu o te Mahara AI Institute at the University of Waikato and Co-chair of the Artificial Intelligence Researchers Association (AIRA). His research focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Science, and Machine Learning for Data Streams.  He is leading the TAIAO Environmental Data Science project, and he is co-leading the open source projects MOA Massive On-line Analysis, StreamDM for Spark Streaming and SAMOA Scalable Advanced Massive Online Analysis. He is the co-author of a book on Machine Learning from Data Streams published at MIT Press. He served as PC Co-Chair of DSAA’2021, Co-Chair of the Industrial track of IEEE MDM 2016, ECML PKDD 2015, and as Co-Chair of KDD BigMine (2019-2012), and ACM SAC Data Streams Track (2023-2012).

This year Emily officially joined the AI revolution as Research Director for emerging global leader in AI for Insights, Yabble. In her role at Yabble Emily is at the forefront of transforming the research and insights industry, supporting the transition from a traditional ‘stayed’ set of research methods to, truly harnessing all the power that AI has to offer. Leveraging AI to helping organisations generate richer insight, faster, more accurately and securely, and at a fraction of the cost of traditional research methods.

Fabian is CEO of RedShield, a world-leading web application security service currently operating in the USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand. Fabian possesses more than two decades of experience as a global CEO, with blue-chip multinational companies in Europe, South America and Asia Pacific. He has held executive and non-executive director positions in management, strategy and marketing. Arriving in New Zealand in 2007 as CEO of Pernod Ricard, he led the transformation of that business into a successful, export-oriented company during his eight-year tenure. Fabian is also the current Chairman of plant-based food company Smartfoods and a Board Director of Auckland’s economic and cultural agency Auckland Unlimited.

Kari Jones is the General Manager for Analytics & Insights with Woolworths Group with both local and group accountabilities. Kari leads a full stack data, analytics and insights capability responsible for driving analytics transformation and enablement end to end. At the group level, she is responsible for leading a culture transformation around data through the Woolworths Data Academy as well as sustainability analytics. Kari is committed to improving the performance of New Zealand organisations through the increased adoption and application of emerging technology, advanced analytics and artificial intelligence.

In her 20-plus years of executive experience at Google, Air New Zealand, Dell Technologies, Booz Allen Hamilton and the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Sydney Savion has led broad transformation, optimization and sustainability initiatives across industry sectors ranging from consulting, computing, aerospace to emerging markets. Dr. Savion is a fellow of the Center for the Study of Learning, George Washington University and a valued speaker on behavioral and neuroscience research and human and AI interaction.

Haren is the Head of Enterprise Greenfield segment at Amazon Web Services (AWS). He leads a team supporting Kiwi Enterprises that are transforming their businesses and driving customer-focused innovation. Previously, he led the Territory business for AWS in ASEAN. Prior to AWS, he held a number of senior roles within technology and consulting businesses across Asia Pacific. Haren is lifelong learner and has a Doctorate in Business Administration. He is an avid trail runner and lives with his wife and two children in Auckland.

Founded RUSH Digital in 2010 and has led its technology teams in developing world-first solutions for global companies such as Microsoft, Disney, Google, Samsung and Nokia. He’s overseen and been hands-on involved in the design, development and deployment of numerous software and hardware projects across a wide range of platforms,  disciplines & high-level strategy of where companies are going to sit in the future.

Lee Hickin

Lee has over 30 years’ experience in the technology sector across the UK, Asia and Australia, and is driven by the potential for positive and responsible technology. As National Chief Technology Officer for Microsoft ANZ, he advises government and commercial organisations on digital strategy and the economic, innovation and social impact of cloud scale technology.
He is primarily focused on artificial intelligence, language models and machine learning. Lee heads Microsoft’s Office of Responsible AI for ANZ.
In addition, his work encompasses supporting Microsoft’s work in quantum computing.
Before joining Microsoft, Lee led the Internet of Things team for Amazon Web Services in Asia Pacific. He sits on the NSW Government Artificial Intelligence Review Committee and on several boards supporting technology innovators and public policy groups.

Ramesh Haridas is an entrepreneur and an investor. He has started and sold three internet companies and has invested in over 100 early stage startups.
