NZ’s Top Comedians Come Together For Comedy Gala This September
Prepare for all your favourite local talent to come together at the Civic this September for a night of laughs for the Best Foods Comedy Gala. I don’t know what other food Best Foods makes but their mayo is top tier. The night is expected to be so great that it will be filmed exclusively by THREE and surreptitious cellphone users.
Hosted by Rhys Mathewson, the lineup is already strong backed up by Samoan comedy superstar Tofiga Fepulea’i, the legendary Justine Smith, comedic genius Kura Forrester, Fred Award winner Eli Matthewson and the inimitable Pax Assadi – plus a guest appearance from Chris Parker in Auckland.
Television and radio host, actor and all-round comedy superstar Hayley Sproull will be there, as well as Guy Williams, the face of New Zealand Today the comedy news show about New Zealand today. Titan of the industry Urzila Carlson will be bringing her savage Kiwi South African vibes to the stage and joining her is multi-award winning writer, MC and comic Nick Rado.
For the Wellington branch of the event, 2021 Billy T Award winner Brynley Stent will be performing alongside comedy-pop-duo sensation Two Hearts (Laura Daniel and Joseph Moore) at the Michael Fowler Centre.
