Alex Honnold and Nicolas Hojas climbing Digital Crack (8a) on the Aiguille du Midi, Chamonix. Aiguille du Midi, meaning “Needle of the Mid-day”, is a 3,842-metre-tall mountain in the Mont Blanc massif within the French Alps. It’s a popular tourist destination as it’s the tallest mountain peak served by an aerial lift system.
The crew took the challenge to climb the mountain to get footage for their VR experience, The Soloist, which you can find on the Oculus Store now. Seeing these mountains in 2D is one thing, seeing them in VR is another. Although we recommend seeing them in the flesh if you can make it.
