Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man
Four years after the series concludes Netflix has greenlit a feature film directed by Tom Harper. I don’t know what the budget is but I assume the 1% left over after decking out Cillian Murphy’s trailer went toward making one hell of a film. The movie takes place in Birmingham in 1940 at the height of the war. Tommy Shelby is back in town and must decide whether he’s going to face his legacy head on or burn the whole thing to the ground.
“The country is at war, and so, of course, are our Peaky Blinders,” series creator Steven Knight told Netflix. “It will be an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. No holds barred. Full-on Peaky Blinders at war.”
Rebecca Ferguson joins the crew as well as Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs, The Hateful Eight), Sophie Rundle (After the Flood, Gentleman Jack), Barry Keoghan (Saltburn, The Banshees of Inisherin) and Stephen Graham (Adolescence, Boiling Point).
This isn’t the end of the Peaky Blinders either, just the start in fact. The movie is breaking the ice for two new seasons each to have 6 episodes. This new season leaps forward a few years to 1953 during the reconstruction, and as you can guess the Shelby family family are going to have their grubby mits all over the money flying around.
“It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me,” Cillian Murphy told Netflix. “It is very gratifying to be re-collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans.”
Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man hits select theaters on March 6, 2026, and lands on Netflix on March 20, 2026.
