Finally You Can Have One Of Boston Dynamics Robot Dogs
The future is going to the dogs – and the robots… Boston Dynamics is an American engineering and robotics design company founded in 1992 as a spin-off from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Best known for their robot-creation, BigDog in 2005, the design company announced in May that their latest robot is already in pre-production.
A commercial version, the four-legged canine-like Spotmini will weigh 25kg and run off electricity. It will be able to operate up to 90 minutes off one charge and will be able to be driven semi-autonomously using several cameras dotted over its body. The robot has a quick-disconnect body, steady cameras and a running motor that makes it move like an actual dog. Boston Dynamics are planning on releasing Spotmini in 2019.
