Sky Sports’ Casey Frank Talks Secret to Success
Occupation: Commentator at SKY Sport and Senior Account Manager
Age: 42
What’s your morning routine?
Up around 5:30am for a workout at home, then I jump onto the laptop to set up my schedule for the day before my daughter Willow wakes up at around 7am.
I make her breakfast (always pancakes or French toast), and sometimes make something for me, then I get ready for work and jump into the commute with the rest of Auckland.
What are the top three things on your bucket list?
Not really a bucket list guy but:
Machu Picchu, Skydiving (which I probably wouldn’t do because I’m scared), ride across the US on a motorcycle (I would for sure die in a crash though since I don’t ride motorcyles).
What advice would you give your 20-year-old self?
Put 10 percent of all income into a mutual fund! But outside of that, to just remember the highs are never as high as you think they are. Good news is that on the flip side the lows are never as low either!
How do you stay motivated?
Fear of failure. I’m reasonably terrified by it so that keeps me driven.
What is the secret to success?
Professionally, I’d say a lack of satisfaction with the current level of achievement. I’m rarely looking back, always focused on the next thing.
In my home life, it’s about always finding the time, no matter what it takes.
What is the worst mistake you’ve made and how did you fix it?
Honestly, nothing comes to mind as the worst. But with any mistake, I always find that jumping on it early with honesty and humility usually works pretty well.
What is your advice for people to fund their dream?
If it is your dream, you can always find a way to drive it. Stay focused on the ultimate goal, but don’t lose sight of all the steps you’re taking along the way
What’s your favourite restaurant?
If I’m hungry the closest one or Sweet Mother’s Kitchen in Wellington
What is the secret of living a longer, more successful life?
Probably being much healthier than I’ll ever be willing to be and working harder and smarter than you ever thought you could.
