Tanqueray Sevilla Orange Wins Product of the Year ‘Best Spirit’
Look, we all know taste is subjective, but at the end of the day, there’s something to be said for a consensus pick. Otherwise, why would we have awards in the first place? Heck, why on Earth did the Greek invent democracy if not to say we trust the verdict of the majority?! OK sure, if politics are anything to go by, maybe the majority shouldn’t always be trusted, but with more trivial choices, it’s more than likely the case that if a product gets the endorsement of the majority, its probably not a coincidence, and you’re probably dealing with someone of real quality. If that is the reality, then it should come as no real surprise that one of Tanqueray’s finest products has earned that ‘seal of approval’, winning Products of the Year USA’s Best Spirit Award for 2022.
Product of the Year bills itself as “the world’s largest consumer-voted award for product innovation”. The outfit, originally established in France but now operating in 40 countries worldwide, seeks to highlight and promote consumer products based on the endorsement of the consumers themselves, and their yearly awards acknowledge stand out products in a whole host of categories, from food and beverages to medical and cleaning products. The US version of the awards bases its picks off of a number of factors, including reviews from over 40,000 regular consumers like you or I.
It’s fairly easy to see how the Tanqueray Sevilla Orange in particular turned out to be a universally admired choice. The flavoured gin is possibly the London-brands’ most lively creation; a liquor bursting with character and the zesty sweetness of the orange makes it an understandably accessible and popular choice for anyone looking for a gin with a bit more to it than your standard traditional options, particularly when it comes to making lush, fruity cocktails during the summer.
Tanqueray Sevilla Orange is the first winner of the Best Spirit category, which made its debut apart of the expanding awards list for 2022. If the feedback is anything to go by, it won’t be the last award Tanqueray will be able to have on its mantlepiece in the years to come.
