The Acer Swift 3 Should Be Your Working Notebook Of Choice
Acer is back at it again with the Acer Swift 3, a thin, tough and light notebook that’s perfect for toting on the go.
Starting with the build, the Swift 3 is encased in a beautiful silver aluminium and magnesium-aluminium metal chassis which makes it sturdy enough to knock around in your bag, although personally, I’d still recommend you treat it with the respect it deserves and buy its own carry case. This chassis also allows it to be as thin as 15.95mm and weigh in at just 1.19kg. You’ll hardly notice you’re carrying it.
Its Thunderbolt 4 plug means you can use a single cord for data transfer (40 Gbps), charging and connecting to external displays. The Swift 3 can handle up to two 4k screens or one 8k.
The screen size is as big as you can possibly make it on a machine of its size, with the vivid colours of a 14” 16:9 FHD IPS display and Acer Colour Intelligence™ and ExaColor™ providing enhanced colour contrast. This is possible by stripping away as much of the bezels on the edges as possible.
Power-wise, the Swift 3 has you sorted as well. Its battery life is able to get you through a couple of workdays with it being able to last up to 17 hours. If you’re on the go in an airport (remember those?) or just about to nip out the door, a half-hour fast charge can get you four hours of use.
Its grunt is everything you’d expect from a modern premium machine with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, and 11th Gen Intel Core. It can pack plenty on it as well, with up to a 1TB SSD to pack all your music and movies onto. If you’re accessing external SSD’s you can do it quickly with its USB-C plug and Thunderbolt 4 capabilities.
You also have the added option to take things to a larger screen or projector via the available display port.
If you’re after a notebook that can handle everything you have to throw at it in your average workday, the Acer Swift 3 will be able to handle it with no worries.
