The Fujifilm X-H1: A Quick Glance
Mirrorless cameras are beginning to usurp the throne where DSLR’s once sat and if you’re looking for a top of the range mirrorless that’ll sharpen up your video skills (content creators, we’re looking at you), then the Fujifilm X-H1 is well worth a look at.
The latest addition to the Fujifilm’s X-Series line, the X-H1 is similar to last year’s X-T2 except its focus (wa-hey photo pun) has shifted towards video. This is the first time Fujifilm has put an emphasis on nailing the video aspects of a mirrorless camera, and it’s pretty nifty: in-body image stabilisation, DCI 4K (4096 x 2160), slow-mo 1080p recording at 120fps and a Rec.2020 colour gamut at a 200Mbps bit rate.
The Eterna Film Simulation feature is welcome too, helping bring out rich shadow tones, detailed highlights and helping curtail the finicky task of post-production colour grading. Shooting stills is also no sweat; autofocus has improved this year, AF-C capabilities make tracking rapid movement far easier and shooting in low-light has definitely stepped up.
