The Ghost Series II is Our V12 of Choice
The Rolls-Royce Ghost has continued to evolve since 2009 marking a major shift in 2020, now the latest version of the Ghost Series II has taken everyone’s feedback onboard to create the most uncompromising vehicle to date with a range of bespoke options for clients that know what they want. It’s powered by a near silent 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 petrol engine and hallmark eight-speed gearbox. It also incorporates Planar Suspension, Flagbearer, and Satellite Aided Transmission systems.
“This new generation of Ghost also has extraordinary handling capabilities based on a number of advanced chassis innovations.” says Chris Brownridge, Chief Executive at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. “This secures Ghost Series II’s status as the most technologically advanced and driver-focused V12 Rolls-Royce ever created — a side of Ghost’s character that our clients increasingly and enthusiastically embrace.”
The front has been refined into a clean contemporary look with updates made to the headlight and daytime running light graphics, which flow from the lower section of the grille to the edge of the front wings, dropping down to emphasise the motor car’s generous 2148mm width. The tail lights have also had a reconfiguration.
Clients can choose from two new 22-inch, 9-spoke wheel designs, one fully- and one part-polished. The interior soundscape has had a touch done to it’s 18-speaker audio system now incorporating an upgraded 1400-watt amplifier. Two mics in the cabin constantly keep tabs on audio quality and automatically adjust the amplifier to optimise the sound.
Textiles used throughout the interior include Duality Twill, a new rayon fabric made from bamboo. Duality Twill took a year of development with a master weaver who is now at Rolls-Royce full time. The interior takes 2.2 million stitches, 11 miles of thread, and can take 20 hours to complete.
Clients looking for a little bit extra can also request reclining Serenity Seating and a champagne cooler with two cooling modes, one set to 6 degrees for non-vintage champagne, and 11 degrees for the vintage good stuff.
Cheers to that!
