Lexus LF-Z Electrified – The Right Place At The Right Time
Let’s just get this out of the way; if you’re trying to sell us on a car with a kickass name like Lexus LF-Z Electrified, you better be able to match it with a kickass product. Well, after getting a look at some of these images, it seems like Lexus might’ve come through with the goods.
The BEV (battery electric vehicle) is the latest in a collection of electric luxury sports cars from Lexus which exemplifies its philosophy of designing cars that fit into the eco-conscious world of 2021. The CEO of Lexus New Zealand, Neeraj Lala has explained that the company’s electrification strategy is all about Lexus doing its part to lower CO2 emissions and “offering the right products in the right place at the right time”. Beyond just what the car offers from an ecological standpoint, Lexus has included a number of unique features to the LF-Z Electrified designed to give the driver a new level of connection to their vehicle. Lexus doesn’t just want you to use your car as a mundane tool from A to B, they want you to feel fully in-sync and in control of the depth of technology the car possesses. It’s a bit like tasting an expensive bottle of whisky; sure, it tastes great regardless, but when you understand the technical mastery that goes into making taste great, you appreciate it even more. And with the LF-Z Electrified, there’s plenty there to appreciate.
The main highlight of the LF-Z Electrified is the Lexus’s brand new wheel innovation “Direct4”, which features an electric motor inside each individual wheel. The feature makes handling smoother than ever as it allows the car to automatically make in-drive adjustment to suit the driver’s style, making for a uniquely synchronised driving experience every time.
Aesthetically, the car isn’t exactly harsh of the eye. The interior goes for a minimalist approach, leaving plenty of space to allow you to ride in comfort and preventing that crammed in feeling some smaller sports cars create. Also, what would a ridiculously flash sports car be with a massage function on its seats? The exterior adopts a sleek, streamlined shell that looks damn good no matter who it’s parked next to and features a glass panoramic roof that can be illuminated to provide the passenger with a beautiful view of the night sky.
If that wasn’t enough for you, the car also features built in AI with voice feature which acts as your personal ride along, helping you find preferred routes and it can even make restaurant reservations for you! Fingers crossed you can have your choice of voice, I’m piloting my supercar while chatting about my superb driving with the voice of Sean Connery (let me dream, ok?).
