12th Annual M2 Champagne Bollinger Man of the Year 2018
M2 Magazine’s Champagne Bollinger Man of the Year is a highlight of any social and cultural calendar. It’s when the red carpet rolls out, the Champagne Bollinger pours freely, Rolls Royce parks their flashest Cullinan models at the door and the guests arrive suited and looking suave.
Friends, family, TV personalities and New Zealand’s finest eagerly flooded into the Northern Club’s Wintergarden, located in the heart of Auckland, on the night of November 15. Widely renowned liquor brands, Campari and Aperol had set-up shop in the corner, offering tasty Spritz and Negroni cocktails and food was supplied by the in-house staff.
The proceedings were MC’d by former rugby union player, Karl Te Nana who emphasised that the Man of the Year highlighted the achievements of New Zealand’s finest men. DJ Sweetpants and vocalist Petra Rijnbeek brought the sounds too, making this a night to remember for anyone lucky enough to attend.
Guests were handed raffle tickets upon entering the event, giving them the opportunity to grab one of the many spot-prizes – bottles of Champagne Bollinger, Aperol Spritz packs, Jimmy Choo fragrances, a Samsung Galaxy Watch, or an 18ct white gold and diamond bow pendant from Sutcliffe Jewellery priced at $2,600. After the prizes were handed out excitedly, the anticipation of who would be named the 2018 M2 Champagne Bollinger Man of the Year sat thickly in the air and became too much to bare for some. Professional racing car driver, Scott Dixon, radio and television host, Jeremy Corbett, Rocket Lab founder, Peter Beck and All Black, Beauden Barrett were all on the nominees list.
When the video of a rocket launching finally flickered onto the projector screen above the stage, M2 Editor, Andre Rowell took great pleasure in announcing the winner, Peter Beck who was there to receive the award. In his acceptance speech, the space-whizz gave his gratitude for the award by promoting growing success from dreams and hardwork. We also had the pleasure of having Champagne Bollinger International Sales Director, Guy de Rivoire, attend the night too to give thanks, some words of wisdom and join the festivities. The awards, held yearly, have been going since 2006 and will be going on for many years to come.
