We love our concepts here at M2, they’re as aspirational as the people we cover. But sometimes concepts are like pictures of fast food. They’re a glossy idea that never quite pans out in the execution.
But then there is the Monaco Yacht Show. A once a year affair where yacht owners, future superyacht purchasers and decision-makers in the yachting and luxury industries converge on the micronation to celebrate luxury sea living. As well as showing off 120 bespoke one-off superyachts, 40 new launches are unveiled for the first time in a worldwide debut. This is where those aspirational concepts come to life, and where the rich and famous come to roost.
Blessed by the king himself, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, the Monaco Yacht Show not only hosts influential shipyards and industry movers and shakers but it also shows off everything from prestige cars to helicopters. If you’re looking for luxury, this 200 hectares of the planet is the place to go for it.
Boadicea
First built in 1999, the Boadicea got a meticulous refit in 2017 that brings this already beautiful yacht onto the bleeding edge of luxury. Featuring the obligatory private owners deck, master suite with a terrace and office, it also comes with a cinema and private saloon. The guests are taken care of with their own elevator, spa, and sundeck. The cherry on top is the helicopter landing pad for the busy billionaire on the go.

The Devocean
If you need to burn through a few hundred Euros over a number of weeks, might we suggest a sunseeker luxury yacht by the name of The Devocean. (Get it? Devotion? Nevermind.) This 36.98m vessel will carry you and 10 of your friends and 7 of your finest crew. While it has all of the specs that you would expect of a yacht of this ilk, including zero speed stabilisers and displacement hull, the real highlight is the top deck jacuzzi and wet bar with BBQ. Baltic 130 My Song
The Baltic 130 My Song is a state of the art, multi-role custom superyacht combining performance and light displacement with a stunning contemporary interior, providing an immensely comfortable cruising platform. Since the delivery in 2016, My Song has won several awards and was judged best yacht at World Superyacht Awards.

The 49 metre Herculina was first built in 1996, but was refitted back in 2006. She was previously named Iroquois. Larisa was launched in 2013 and has been exceptionally maintained by its only owner, who has only lightly used her in that time. The French have gifted the world with many cultural influences. If it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t have fine French cuisine, like French Fries, and Entrepreneurs would just be called business people or just unemployed. They also have a unique flair that has influenced their art, architecture and even automotive design. And if the NYOTA is anything to go by, this flair also translates into boatbuilding. Built by Couach at their Gujan-Mestras shipyard, the 37m vessel is a sleek, streamlined work of art. But don’t worry it’s not just about the looks, there is some serious engineering going on too. Powered by 2 MTU (12V 4000 M90) 2,735hp diesel engines the NYOTA is capable of a top speed of 30 knots. There is also accommodation for up to 8 guests in 4 staterooms, 3 double cabins and 1 twin cabin. There are also two large open decks which are the perfect spots for popping a bottle of expensive Champagne and toasting to the fact that you have a French designed superyacht with two large decks.
