The Valley and The Vines
Located in South Australia, 100 kilometres from Adelaide, sits the idyllic Clare Valley. Famously renown as a thriving food and drink hub, this Aussie destination is a Mecca for winemakers. The climate allows for hot days and cool nights allowing the grapes to ripen and thrive more evenly.
Imagine: miles upon miles of lush green hills speckled with rows and rows of grapevines. Imagine those grapevines getting picked daily and being transported to one of the famous Clare Valley vineyards. Family-owned Aussie winery, Taylors, has recently been able to offer us over the ditch the opportunity to taste what results in that grape picking.
Founded in 1969, Taylors Wine was founded by Bill Taylor Snr., and his sons. Working previously in Sydney as hoteliers and wine merchants, the family tailored a wide list of different wines for surrounding restaurants and bars. They then moved to Clare Valley and started their own winery which currently puts out outstanding wines. Business and pleasure worked hand-in-hand in making Taylors.
Recently, Taylors have branched out their uniquely versatile new range, Taylor Made. It features a cheeky Clare Valley Malbec, a naughty BDX blend and a sweet, chocolatey Clare Valley Shiraz aged in French oak. The Taylor Made range is available at select supermarkets and liquor shops around New Zealand at approximately $25 a bottle.
Third-generation Company Director and, Justin Taylor says that “the range is modern, with a fresh look and design that’s unlike anything in the Taylors portfolio, but still true to our rich heritage and award-winning winemaking.”
