Top Three Autumn Reads
For this issue, I read 3 great novels, by whom I would call the gentlemen of action fiction authors.
The Call of the Raven
By Wilbur Smith
I really admire Smith’s unique writing style that transports you back to a time of a different world. It takes a few pages to get into the flow, then you’re away!
The Sentinel
By Lee Child
When I interviewed Child a couple of years ago, I was surprised that he doesn’t have a plan to his stories and just writes. Amazing. Well after 21 Jack Reacher novels, he’s now passing the baton onto his brother Andrew Child. So this is their “handover” novel. I did pick up some changes to Reacher’s character and the plot, see if you notice them.
A Time For Mercy
By John Grisham
When you read a Grisham novel, you know you’re going to get a lawyer, courtroom scenes, plot twists and great page turning excitement. Predictable, but totally unpredictable.
