Try This Spicy Fire & Ice Margarita
The Margarita is a classic cocktail that has stood the test of time, remaining an eternal favourite at bars and parties the world over. And when it comes to ultimate in summer imbibing, this simple yet tenacious tequila-based drink served on the rocks is hard to beat – its sweet-tart layers of freshly-squeezed lime juice and that essential hit of orange liqueur, balanced with a saline edge make for one refreshingly smooth beverage.
What’s more Mexican than tequila? Why, a jalapeño pepper of course, so why not combine the two for a double hit of spicy Mexicana? Now all that fiery jalapeño zing needs to be cooled down with something and nothing eases spice burn better than cucumber. Add in Cointreau and some fresh lime juice and you have the ultimate Mexican fire-and-ice Margarita cocktail. Drink it on a hot day or cool day, it doesn’t matter – the Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita is perfect for any weather!
Ingredients:
30 ml MARGARITA COINTREAU
50 ml BLANCO TEQUILA
30 ml FRESH LIME JUICE
3 coins of CUCUMBER
2 slices of JALAPENO
How to Make:
Muddle cucumber coins in a cocktail shaker.
Add all other ingredients to the shaker with ice.
Shake and fine strain into a rocks glass over ice.
Garnish with cucumber ribbon and a few jalapeño coins.
