Two Spring Reads for August
Amudsen’s Way
By Joanna Grochowicz
Using the unpublished expedition diaries to create a surprisingly intimate and well researched story, Amudsen’s Way casts a light onto an explorer that’s too often overshadowed by his competition.
The story is written for kids, but is equally as enjoyable for adults wanting a light read about the daring race for the South Pole.
In the spirit of all great adventure novels, Amundsen and his team have the intrigue and pressure of beating the British to contend with, as well as nature itself.
The Second Sleep
By Robert Harris
Easy author name to remember, but there is no caffeine needed to read this novel! It has a smart story line that just when you think you know what’s going on, it throws you. I enjoyed the twists and turns our hero Father Fairfax took in this one.
