Where Do You Go After You Buy the rarest watch on earth? Back to Casio: Zuckerberg’s Latest Rare Watch
Mark Zuckerberg, tech billionaire, Meta overlord and recreational jiu-jitsu enthusiast likes his watches.
Last year he donned a $900,000 Greubel Forsey to announce a policy shift about Facebook’s “truth policing” and in a recent a podcast with YouTuber’s Colin and Samir feat MrBeast, Zuckerburg left the handmade Swiss timepiece in its watchcase in favour of a watch at the other end of the price spectrum but no less cool, the already iconic Casio G-Shock GA2100WS-7A. A sub NZ$300 watch released back in 2023.
Even with a 48.5mm case (lug-to-lug), it somehow wears slimmer than its numbers suggest thanks to Casio’s sleek Carbon Core Guard structure, which keeps the profile lean at just 11.8mm thick. Wrapped in a crisp white resin bezel and band, the GA2100WS-7A pops with a metallic blue dial. It’s practically a dress watch by G-Shock standards, but still tough enough to survive a jiu-jitsu bout or the occasional congressional hearing.
This analog-digital hybrid features dual time, world time (31 time zones), stopwatch, countdown timer, daily alarm, and auto calendar. The dial includes Super Illuminator LED backlight and a hand shift function, so the analog hands politely move out of the way when you’re checking digital info.
Originally released as part of a color-refresh series, the GA2100WS-7A is now discontinued, making it one of those rare G-Shocks that is becoming increasingly elusive.
And just to complete the look, Zuck paired it with the actual Ardsley Athletics shirt Jesse Eisenberg wore in The Social Network which he bought at auction for over $4,000. While the Social Network kind of made Zuckerburg look like a dick, at least he’s at least got some good taste in watches.
