Worx Landroid
Mowing the lawns is sort’ve like vacuuming the house. It’s just one of those jobs you’ve just got to do. Through gritted teeth, manually taking to the lawn with a rickety push-pull mower can turn a man crazy. The line of garden equipment, Worx, has recently released a robot-companion tool that is convenient, not cost-effective and oh so easy to use for a bloke on the go.
Enter stage right Worx’s latest, engenius tool for the modern gardener. Slick and attractive in its design, their robot lawn mower (aptly titled a Landroid) is a real step in the right direction in how we can utilize technology to make our lives easier. When first setting up the device, the user must set the coordinates of the grassy area into the machine but after that, it’s as simple as just pushing ‘Start’. It’s that easy!
Powered by a 28 Volt Lithium ion battery which takes about 1.5 hours to completely charge, the Landroid is technically capable of mowing a 1,000 square metre area on a single charge. On the undercarriage of the machine, there are two big blades. Even if the ground is still muddy, the robot mower won’t get stuck or lodged in the ground. It’s lightweight design will allow it to just glide over it!
The mower’s built-in rain sensor makes the device stop when it senses moisture on the ground and restarts when the grass is dry. Worx is renown for good quality toolship, so it’s no surprise that this mower is so handy. The lawn mower uses codes and algorithms to navigate grassy turf and narrow passages, allowing the machine to run up to a 20 degree slope. A lightweight design (at 8.5kg), makes it adaptable to different types of environments. The settings on the mower are very user-friendly with its fully automated system. A new wave of automated technologies are very much here and ready to make our lives that much easier. This new lawn mower can only be purchased online for approximately NZD$1,500.
