The Grand Kazakh Canyon
Find two very tall objects extremely far apart and Jaan Roose has probably slacklined between the two. This particular stunt was pulled off in Bozzhyra, Kazakhstan, just 160km from the Caspian Sea. This basin was once an ancient ocean, but now, as its name ‘Bozzhyra’ translated into English suggests, it’s just a ‘Grey Land’ now.
The slackline for this shot is 500 metres long and 200 metres above the ground. Out of shot is ‘the fangs’, outcroppings that look like the weathered remains of a giant’s jawbone.
