A Tribute to the Man From Saint Who Would be Sir
Recently Sir Roger Moore, Bond star and UNICEF Ambassador, passed away after a short fight with cancer. His family left a letter stating: “The love with which he was surrounded in his final days was so great it cannot be quantified in words alone.”
The message continued: “We know our own love and admiration will be magnified many times over, across the world, by people who knew him for his films, his television shows and his passionate work for UNICEF, which he considered to be his greatest achievement.”
Michael Caine tweeted about the loss of his friend. “I am devastated today at losing one of my oldest and closest friends Roger Moore; my world will never be the same again.”
Mark Humphries pointed out Moore’s awesome humour, which is evident in the commentaries for his Bond films. “Roger Moore was my favourite Bond and a great anecdotalist. His audio commentaries on the Bond films are hilarious and well worth a listen.”
To remember this great man and his good nature we’ve compiled a few of his best quotes.
You can either grow old gracefully or begrudgingly. I chose both.
Some are blessed with musical ability, others with good looks. Myself, I was blessed with modesty.
If you don’t have humour, then you may as well nail the coffin lid down now.
I enjoy being a highly overpaid actor.
I’ve learnt that through life you just get on with it. You’re going to meet a lot of dishonest people along the line and you say good luck to them. I hope they live in comfort. Then I start sticking more pins in their effigies.
