Balloon Up To Space
In April 2001, American engineer and entrepreneur Dennis Tito, along with the Russian Federal Space Station, became the first man who funded his own ride to space. It’s insane to think that the number has risen greatly to almost three hundred tourists having taken a spin around the globe.
London-based PriestmanGoode have been busily paving the plans to get ‘Neptune’ up above the clouds. The high-performance balloon and capsule named ‘Neptune’ is planned to place passengers at the edge of space.
In collaboration with Space Perspective, the vehicle will be flown by a pilot and contain up to eight passengers and research payloads on a six-hour journey up to the edge of space and then safely back down to earth.
Neptune’s first un-crewed test flight is scheduled for early 2021.
