Ferrari’s 1st Front Wheel Drive EV – Stradale
Ferrari is to release the latest in their SF90 Stradale – the world’s first ever front wheel Ferrari (when driving it in EV-only mode).
It got its name from the 90th anniversary of the Scuderia Ferrari and its bodywork sits as a 70’s racer and the hybrid technology is a nod to Ferrari’s impeccable Formula 1 range. It’s also their first mainstream production plug-in hybrid car and will kick up to 986 horsepower from a twin-turbo V8 engines.
Oh yes, there’s more than one. Try three other 7.9kWh lithium-ion batteries that power each front wheel and one to power the back engine and gearbox. The power backed up by those engines pumps the Stradale from 0 to 62 in 2.5 seconds. The concept will feature lightweight titanium springs, carbon-fibre wheels, upgraded shock and weight-saving features that will support the downforce. On the inside, the seats will be plush and the contents will be largely minimal. Contemporary knobs and buttons will be replaced by a much flashier sensory touch screen. If truth be known, Ferrari has been quite secret about the pricing, even though they’re set to be delivered next year.
