How To Pick A Haircut That’s Both Suave And Low Maintenance
For the upcoming issue of M2, we took a couple of our guys to BarberShopCo. to see what they could do. All our people came out looking top notch and even better than they started, which is always what you want happening after a visit to the barber. We quizzed the team at BarberShop Co. on their techniques, what they used and what we can do ourselves to achieve and maintain these stylish cuts.
Our first cut was done by Chris who opted to give our man Mataio a short, textured low maintenance haircut. The back and sides have been faded down to the skin, with a razor on the edges for a sharp clean finish. This is perfect for guys who don’t want to spend too much time messing around with their hair, but equally want to have a suave look moments after rolling out of bed. It also works equally well with a clean shave or five’o’clock shadow, meaning your style looks intentional no matter what state you’re in.
Products used to keep the look include King Brown Grooming Spray and The Bowery Rakeback. First, the King Brown Grooming Spray is blow dryed into the hair to draw out and emphasise the texture. Finally, The Bowery Rakeback finishes off the look and gives the hold required and a shine that complements Mataio’s dark hair. Rakeback is handy for most looks, whether you’re looking for a textured look or combed straight.
