Just Get Over it
Ahhhhh, Auckland. such a beautiful city. The home of the M2 offices, the birthplace of Sir Edmund Hilary and where you have to sell a kidney or lower limb to afford a house
It’s also the location of the iconic Harbour Bridge. Last month, the Auckland Council announced that there is going to be an addition to its visage – a shared walking path that sits right next to the busy traffic lanes. Aptly titled (but not really) the SkyPath, it’s going to provide a better way to travel across the Waitemata Harbour. The walkway will be attached firmly to the bridge piers and will parallel the design and look of the original bridge, for walkers to enjoy the stunning views of the city. Construction is being said to start as early as next year, if their funding goes according to plan. Auckland Council has plans of adding a SeaPath too, a 4 kilometre path between Northcote Point and Esmonde Road in Takapuna on Auckland’s North Shore.
An estimated $129 billion is expected to be spent on capital projects between 2019 and 2029 in New Zealand.
