M2 2022 Luxury Watch Preview: Longines
Longines Legend Diver Watch
Longines first diver watch was released in 2007, since then it has developed a cult following for its dynamic, clean aesthetics. The new release brings some more colour to the party, featuring sand beige, ash grey, royal blue and vivid burgundy. Along with classically-proportioned 42mm models, Longines has also added 36mm references to the collection. Each new timepiece features a box-shaped sapphire crystal. These newest variations house a self-winding mechanical movement (L888.5 for 42mm and L592.5 for 36mm versions) with a silicon balance-spring.
The 42mm versions feature sand beige or ash grey colour-gradient dials and come with tone-on-tone fabric straps. There is also a royal blue model, which is presented on a coordinated leather strap.
These new models continue Longines commitment to their long heritage of distinct and innovative designs.
Longines Spirit Zulu Time
Longines is the brand favoured by adventurers and explorers. They have graced the wrists of aviators, such as Amy Johnson, Clyde Pangborn and Hugh Herndon. The new Spirit Zulu Time pulls from this history to develop a new watch with its own inhouse calibre and multiple timezone support. The hour hand can be adjusted independently of the GMT indicator. Additional time zones are read using a 24-hour hand and a bidirectional rotating bezel, also graduated over 24 hours. Its hands and numerals, coated with Super-LumiNova, enable the time to be read under all circumstances. The 42 mm steel case has an interchangeable stainless steel bracelet or an interchangeable brown, beige or blue leather strap.
This model features a bezel enhanced with a coloured ceramic insert, and is available on a matt black, sandblasted anthracite or sunray blue dial, with a date window now centred at the 6 o’clock position.
This is a watch for those who want class, but also don’t need to worry about pampering their timepiece.
